A instalação “Fortuna” consiste em uma obra na qual palavras retiradas do inglês foram compiladas para transmitir a ideia de antever, pressagiar acontecimentos e ações futuras. Essas palavras incluem “fortoken” (presságio), “foretell” (prever), “foresse” (prenunciar) e “forecast” (prognosticar). O título da instalação não se refere apenas ao significado relacionado aos bens materiais de um indivíduo, mas principalmente ao caráter de boa sorte ou infortúnio, ventura, êxito e adversidade que essas palavras concentram. A obra é composta por 25 placas de acrílico recortado sobrepostas em uma superfície espelhada, que se assemelha a uma “fonte dos desejos”. Isso sugere o caráter imprevisível e suspenso da vida atual, fazendo alusão à incerteza e à imprevisibilidade do futuro. A escolha das palavras em inglês para representar esses conceitos pode ter sido feita pela artista devido ao amplo uso e influência desse idioma no contexto global. “Fortuna” convida os espectadores a refletirem sobre a natureza volátil e incerteza da vida, os caminhos que escolhemos e as possibilidades futuras que podem estar além de nosso controle. A obra, ao concentrar palavras relacionadas à previsão e à antecipação, cria um espaço para explorar ideias de destino, sorte e fortuna em um mundo em constante mudança.

The installation “Fortuna” consists of a work in which words taken from English were compiled to convey the idea of foreseeing, foretelling future events and actions. These words include “fortoken” (omen), “foretell” (foreseen), “foresse” (forecast) and “forecast” (forecast). The title of the installation does not only refer to the meaning related to an individual's material goods, but mainly to the character of good luck or misfortune, luck, success and adversity that these words concentrate.The work is made up of 25 cut acrylic sheets superimposed on a mirrored surface, which resembles a “wish fountain”. This suggests the unpredictable and suspended character of current life, alluding to the uncertainty and unpredictability of the future. The choice of English words to represent these concepts may have been made by the artist due to the wide use and influence of this language in the global context. “Fortuna” invites viewers to reflect on the volatile and uncertain nature of life, the paths we choose and future possibilities that may be beyond our control. The work, by concentrating words related to prediction and anticipation, creates a space to explore ideas of destiny, luck and fortune in a world in constant change.
